Canton Car Wreck Fatality
KETK reported that on May 2, 2023, one person died and three suffered from injuries in a car wreck on SH 65 near Canton. The preliminary crash report showed that the driver of a 1992 Oldsmobile made an unsafe U-turn, colliding with a 2020 Harley Davidson motorcycle. The impact occurred on the passenger side of the Oldsmobile. First responders transported all three passengers and the motorcycle rider to Canton hospital for treatment. Raquel Rodriguez, age 67, who was a passenger in the Oldsmobile died from the sustained injuries.
Forney Car Wreck Involving Train
KLTV reported that on May 9, 2023, in Forney, Texas, a railroad crossing gate came down on top of an SUV, trapping the vehicle. Before the Union Pacific train crashed into it, the three people in the car managed to exit and escape. They did not sustain injuries, but a video taken of the accident shows the train slamming into the car with a forceful impact.
Farm-to-Market (FM) 1388 Car Wreck in Forney, TX
On May 13, 2023 inforney.com reported a single vehicle rollover crash occurred in the afternoon. As a result, emergency responders airlifted three injured people, one child and two adults. They transported another injured person by ambulance. Police closed the road temporarily, and have been investigating to discover what caused the rollover.
Motorcycle Crash Fatality in Forney, TX
On May 13, 2023 inforney.com reported a motorcyclist died in a crash on County Road 225, south of U.S. Highway 80. The crash resulted in life threatening injuries. Hospital staff at Baylor, Scott & White Hospital pronounced the biker deceased. Police are investigating the accident.
