Semi Truck Fire Accident | Car Collides with Diesel Tanks | Both Vehicles Burn

When a semi truck fire accident occurred, two motorists were killed and another seriously hurt in a spectacular collision on Highway 310 in Dallas earlier this month. According to a report in CD Life, the accident happened at approximately 3 am, Saturday, November 11. Firefighters responded to a 3:19 am call that two vehicles were on fire at the intersection of Texas 310 and Great Trinity Forest Way. They arrived to find a tractor-trailer and a passenger vehicle in flames. The driver of the truck was able to get clear of his vehicle, but suffered injuries that required transportation to a nearby hospital. After bringing the blaze under control, firefighters discovered two bodies inside the passenger vehicle.

The Cause of the Semi Truck Fire Accident

The details of the crash remain under investigation, but preliminary evidence indicates that the 18-wheeler, hauling an earth-mover, had just exited northbound Texas 310 onto westbound Great Trinity Forest Way when the passenger vehicle, also traveling westbound on Great Trinity Forest Way, collided with the truck, rupturing its fuel tanks. Both vehicles caught fire almost instantaneously.

The accident caused the closure of both lanes of traffic on Great Trinity Forest Way for a number of hours.
